CC493K Bronze Sleeve Bushings Leaded Gunmetal Machine Part
Project Name: CC493K Bronze Sleeve Bushings Leaded Gunmetal Machine Part
Industry Sector:
Oil and Gas, Defence, Construction Machinery
Client Requirement:
Our client needed us to wire erode a Ø 890.0 mm x 500.0 mm bush into two equal halves, producing a minimal kerf width.
Type of Work:
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM): Wire Erosion (WEDM), Sub-contract Wire Erosion
Work Carried Out:
Bronze sleeve bushings are hard and strong and generally have a longer lifespan than sleeves made from brass which are softer and more easily deform. Bronze sleeve bushings are resistant to shock and impact as well as wear and corrosion. As a result, they are ideal for using in the oil, gas and defence industry.
Cheshire Wire Erosion was able to wire erode a Ø 890.0 mm x 500.0 mm bush into two equal halves, producing a minimal kerf width. (Kerf is the width of material that is removed when the cutting process is carried out).
A Sodick AG600LH wire erosion machine tool was used to wire erode the bronze sleeve bush. You can see the work being carried out in the short video attached. This machine has submerged 500mm cut height capability which means you can expect brilliant results!
We have the expertise and technology to produce similar components of varying dimensions. Using the Sodick AG 600LH we can ensure precision cutting and positioning accuracy.
Result:
Our client was really pleased with the results. We were able to produce a part that was to the exact specifications that they required.
