New machine – Sodick AG600L Linear EDM Machine

Cheshire Wire Erosion prides itself in being at the cutting edge of technology and machinery.  We are keen to source and use the very best equipment and as a result are continually investing in new EDM machines.

We have recently purchased AG600L designed and built by Sodick who are leaders in the design and production of Linear EDM machines.  This is in addition to the two that we already have.  It is a large machine, the workpiece sizes are 800 x 570 x 350mm and the cutting area is X Axis 600 x Y Axis 400 x Z Axis 350mm, with the maximum workpiece weight being 1000kg.  One of the features that make the AG600L so effective is that, as it is a linear motor drive machine, it retains its precision and accuracy and high level capabilities over a long period of time.  The rigid design and broad scope of possible applications allow Sodick machines to meet the varying demands of contemporary manufacturing and respond to the customer’s needs.   For our customers at Cheshire Wire Erosion this means that you will be guaranteed higher levels of performance.

Some of the specific advantages of this piece of machinery include the fact that interlocking workpieces, long workpieces and punches with different top and bottom contours can be machined to an even greater accuracy.  The corner control function enables the machining of high precision corners.  These are just a couple of the features of the AG600L which make it an invaluable addition to Cheshire Wire Erosion.
